The automotive industry has experienced rapid transformation, integrating technology, sustainability and innovation. Through robust R&D initiatives and a growing array of buying options, there is an increase in the adoption of sustainable transportation, particularly electric vehicles (EVs).

In Malaysia, the nation is well-positioned for growth in the automotive industry. Through EV incentives in Budget 2024 and outlined in the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), Malaysia remains committed to its aspirations of being an inclusive, sustainable and carbon-neutral nation by 2050. Amid exponential growth in sustainable practices and EV adoption, the government is simultaneously exploring Malaysia’s potential as a strategic automotive hub for the ASEAN region.

Yet, to fully realize these aspirations, it is imperative to delve into the sentiments of automotive industry players in order to adopt a more comprehensive approach to the automotive landscape. In KPMG’s 24th Annual Global Automotive Executive Survey, we examine key findings across the global outlook, powertrains, digital consumers, supply chains and technology impacts.
